Once at this point, the ascent to the Parque National Garajonay, a paradise of laurisilva and a Cultural Heritage of Humanity nature reserve, will commence. A stop off will be made at Degollada de Peraza viewpoint where you have the opportunity to enjoy the fabulous panoramic views out over the island.
The route will then continue past La Palmita, through the national park before arriving at the little villages of Las Rosas and Agulo. Here, a stop will be made for lunch, which may be enjoyed in a restaurant typical of La Gomera. You should not leave without first witnessing a live demonstration of the particularly famous ""silbo gomero", a peculiar local method of communication.
Time permitting following your hearty lunch, there is nothing better than a call in at the visitor center where the ""juego de bolas"" (game of bowls) may be observed.
The return trip will be via the splendid Hermigua Valley, before arriving again at San Sebastian. It is possible to relax and take in the historical remains of Christopher Columbus' island presence before his departure for the Americas at the Torre del Conde or the house of Columbus.
